  1. Induction Furnace

Make

Swastik Enterprise India

Model

IMF-900

Title of the related experiment:

Melting of low melting temperature metals/alloys for casting purpose

Brief explanation on usage of the said equipment

Induction Melting Furnace works on the induction principle. This furnace is easy to operate for small-size melts. A scrap-filled ceramic crucible is placed inside the furnace, and the temperature is set sufficiently higher than the melting temperature of the metal/alloy. The maximum temperature limit for this furnace is 900 degree Celsius. Therefore, this furnace is used to melt metals and alloys with low melting temperatures. Metal and their alloys, such as aluminium, magnesium, copper, and tin, are melted in such a furnace. With this furnace, students should be able to:

·      Select the crucible type and size as per the metal to be melted

·      Select the super-heated temperature as per the metal to be melted

2.High Pressure Die Casting Machine

Make

TECHNOCRATS DIE CASTING (INDIA)

Model

HPDC-90

Title of the related experiment:

Demonstration about working of high-pressure die casting machine

Brief explanation on usage of the said equipment

The high-pressure die casting machine has a capacity of 80tons. High-Pressure Die Casting (HPDC) is a highly efficient manufacturing method for producing various product forms. The process forces molten metal into a closed steel die cavity at high speed and high pressure. The die has a stationary and moving half, both of which are mounted to the die casting machine’s platens. The die-casting machine has an injection end that uses hydraulics and pressurized gas to move a piston forward, injecting the molten metal into the closed steel die. The die-casting machine also has a clamping end that utilizes hydraulics and mechanical toggles to absorb the injection pressure and hold the die shut while the part solidifies. The process can turn molten metal into a solid near-net-shape piece in seconds. With this machine, students will be able to

·         Create complex and intricate shapes as a single piece from Al alloy
