Angel Alumnus

Thapar Alumni have gained eminence across the world and occupy important positions in business, industry, and governance. They are the ambassadors of TIET's excellence as they carry with them the experience of their alma mater.

In the recent past, several amongst them have contributed generously towards the development of college infrastructure, and more are joining this noble venture. By supporting and pioneering various initiatives of the institution, our incredible community of donors ensures that Thapar can advance its leadership across all areas.

Our "Angel Alumnus," Mr. Ram G Narula, is one such benefactor. He graciously donated 70,000 USD to the institution, which is the highest donation received to date. Mr. Ram Narula brings nearly 50 years of Engineering, Procurement, and Construction experience in conventional power generation, alternative energy, and waste-to-energy projects. After 38 years with Bechtel Power Corporation, Mr. Narula recently retired as Vice President / Principal Vice President and Chief Technology Officer. He was responsible for technology risk assessment and mitigation, establishing performance guarantees, and positioning the company for emerging technology, regulatory, and public policy trends. He championed innovation and technical excellence and provided functional oversight of over 150 distinguished senior technical specialists and scientists.

Mr. Narula was elected a Bechtel Fellow, a rare distinction, based on his contributions to the company and the engineering profession through his leadership roles in professional societies and industry forums.

We would like to express our gratitude to him for his support. His contributions are invaluable and essential for the betterment of the institution.
